Oenothera biennis
This is a lovely plant. It can reach between 3' and 4' tall, with a loose spike of 1"  yellow flowers that bloom into the fall. It is quite tolerant of soil conditions, and is a good choice for roadsides and urban wasteland. The showy flowers provide for insects, and the abundant seeds are an important food source for birds. It is a reseeding biennial and blooms the second year.
