Pasque Flower
This low crocus-like flower is one of the earlierst bloomers on the prairie. It has white to sky blue flowers and very fuzzy leaves and stems. Because it blooms around Easter, it also bears the common name Easter flower.
In traditional Native American medicine, it was used to induce labor, but is now considered highly toxic.
