Side oats grama is a native perennial that has distinctive and attractive flowerheads that, as the common name suggests, bend to one side of the stem. Not only is it good as forage for native grazers, birds, and livestock, but grasshoppers enjoy its leaves as well.  it is attractive as a long-lasting dried flower.

As an easy-to-grow endangered species, you can feel good about tossing some of these seed balls in some untended places.
